Where's the Line? Navigating Ethics of Dual Relationships and Boundaries

On-Demand Pre-Recorded

The client and therapist relationship - how do clinicians navigate the possibility of a dual relationship? What ethical principles and standards should be considered? These are both important questions that will be addressed in this workshop on the ethical considerations of dual relationships. This engaging and interactive training will help learners to increase their clinical judgment in identifying appropriate professional relationships with clients. Categories of dual relationships will be presented, and discussion will center on using critical thinking skills to identify best practices. Special consideration will be given to diversity in dual relationships, such as rural settings and racial and ethnic influences on dual relationships.

The presenter provides a wealth of knowledge and discusses real-life examples and experiences to further participants’ understanding of the material. This course not only provides 3 ethics credit hours, but by the conclusion, clinicians will be better prepared to navigate the confusing and ambiguous issues around dual relationships and boundaries.
