Foundations of Trauma-Informed Therapy Practices
On-Demand Pre-Recorded
Studies have found that 90% of mental health clients have experienced a traumatic event in their lives. As practitioners, we realize that providing trauma-informed treatment is an important part of our work. Even if treating trauma is not our primary clinical focus, it is necessary to feel confident in managing unexpected traumatic disclosures in session.
In this workshop, you’ll learn about trauma and its manifestations in neurobiology, emotions and behaviors. The training will cover PTSD diagnosis and assessment tools. Finally, the training will provide an overview of trauma-informed care and trauma-focused treatment, as well as the difference between the two. Recommendations are provided for ways that clinicians can provide trauma-informed care in their everyday practice.
