Building Your Grief Toolbox: Grief Counseling & Therapy Techniques for Clinical Practice
3.0 CREDIT HOURS
Course Overview:
In today's world, the demand for expert trained grief and bereavement professionals has never been greater. While this need continues to grow the reality is that most traditional academic programs (including Master’s and PhD programs) overlook the essential area of grief therapy approaches and techniques. This educational void forces clinicians to seek alternative methods that may not align with the latest evidence-informed practices, leaving clients underserved.
This training will provide clinicians with a strong foundation in grief counseling and therapy techniques. It will also provide clinician evaluation tools for assessing whether trauma responses or depression may need to be addressed prior to or in tandem with grief counseling approaches. The workshop presumes a basic understanding of modern grief theories, including Continuing Bonds Theory and the Dual Process Model of Bereavement.
