Your Ultimate Guide to our Live Zoom Workshops: How to Prepare, Participate, Learn, and Earn Credits

Updated: Apr 4, 2023

If you're interested in attending a Live Zoom training with Maryland CEU Institute, here's a summary of what you can expect:

  1. Registration: You can register quickly and easily on our website for any upcoming live Zoom training. Visit our registration page HERE and add any of our live courses to your cart (you can add multiple courses to your shopping cart at once). When you're ready to complete your registration, just click on your shopping cart in the upper right corner and checkout. Provide the requested information at checkout and, upon completion, you will receive an email confirmation. This email confirmation will contain links towards the bottom that will allow you to download an information sheet for the course. Note: the course information sheet contains course details like the date, timing, and agenda, but does not contain Zoom codes.

  2. Add the training to your calendar NOW! Once you have registered, make sure to add the training to your calendar ASAP.

  3. Preparation: The week of the training, typically 2-3 days prior, we'll send you an email with all the information you need to prepare for the session. This will include the Zoom link/codes to access the training. Make sure you read this email carefully and follow any instructions provided. One day prior to the training, we will send any handouts or materials you need to download or review beforehand.

  4. Accessing the training: On the day of the training, click on the Zoom link provided in the email or open the Zoom application on your computer or tablet (note that we suggest viewing the course on a laptop or desktop computer for the best viewing experience). You do not need to have a Zoom account to access the training. If this is your first time using Zoom, you may need to download the Zoom app on your device before you can join the session.

  5. The session itself: Once you're in the Zoom session, you'll see a welcome screen with information about how to complete our virtual sign-in sheet. The virtual sign-in sheet is one of the documentation requirements we must fulfill for each participant in order to issue a certificate. The sign-in sheet is simply an online form and we provide a link to this form in the Zoom chat along with a QR code on the screen. Both of these methods - the link or QR code will allow you to access the virtual sign-in sheet. Once the training begins, our staff will play an instruction video which will also explain the sign-in sheet and additional requirements to receive your continuing education credits. After the announcements and instruction video, the training will begin promptly. Depending on the type of training, you may be asked to participate in discussions, answer polls, or complete exercises. You can ask questions at any time using the chat feature, and the trainer will either respond directly or address them later in the session.

  6. Technical issues: While we do everything we can to ensure a smooth experience, technical issues can sometimes arise. If you experience any problems during the training, such as being unable to access the session or having trouble with audio or video, please use the chat feature to let the trainer know or email us at info@marylandceu.com. We can typically respond to emails very quickly and can call you to assist over the phone, if needed. During the training, our staff members will be available via chat and will do their best to resolve the issue or provide an alternative solution.

  7. Training Conclusion, Evaluations, Sign-Out: At the end of the training, please do not sign out of Zoom or walk away from your device until you complete your evaluation! Our staff will provide you with a link to complete a combined course evaluation and sign-out. The evaluation/sign-out is another important requirement that must be fulfilled to receive your continuing education credits. Once you have completed he evaluation/sign-out, you are free to log off of Zoom.

  8. Certificates: We take pride in ensuring that our certificates are trusted and valid. That's why we don't automatically issue certificates at the end of a training. Instead, we take the time to check all participant data and information to ensure that we have everything we need before issuing a certificate. Our goal is to stand behind our certificates and provide our attendees with the highest level of accuracy and professionalism. Certificates are sent by email to attendees within one week of the training's end date, but we often are able to send them much sooner. We're constantly improving our verification process and strive to send your verified certificate as soon as possible.

Overall, our Live Zoom trainings are designed to provide you with high-quality, interactive learning experiences from the comfort of your own home or office. We look forward to seeing you at our next session!
